Peace Negociations

King Hapsburg returns in Triumph!

On the twenty third day of the month of august, eleven hundred and eight, one year after the loss of King Kainom, The Teutonian Reichsstand elected Frederick von Hapsburg, formally High Steward, as King of Teutonia.

The election was voted on by the Prince Electors of Teutonia and witnessed by the entire Teutonian Senate and guests. The two declared candidates Frederick von Hapsburg and Harold Darka von Vienna stated their cases to the assembled Senate, before the Prince Elector’s cast their votes in the favour of King Frederick von Hapsburg.

VIPERS & COBRAS ARE NO MORE!

Peace has been declared between the Vipers and Cobras. In a symbolic move Frederick von Hapsburg
was crowned King of Teutonia uniting the Vipers and Cobras under the Hapsburg rule.

This was the climax of months of negotiations between the Cobra high command and the Teutonian Senate.
Following the death of Maximilian Kruger early this year it was possible for the Cobras under the command of Analise von Heidlburg to bring this hurtful conflict to an end. King Hapsburg declared this a new beginning for Teutonia and named Analise, Vizegraf von Hague and her deputy Augustus Leitner, Frieheir von Neu Schwerin.

KELTOI JOIN GREATER TUETONIA

King Hapsburg and Herzog von Kessel Fitzhumaktson have travelled this winter to the city of Murmansk in northern Teutonia to help our new ally, King Owain ap Kernow of the Keltoi, settle into his new home on the Island of Nordstrand, in the North Sea.

At the climax of the battle this summer in Erin against the Keltoi Invaders a truce and alliance was forged between the Keltoi and Tuetonia. In an effort to prevent more bloodshed King Hapsburg led the negociations with King Owain ap Kernow of the Keltoi. A peace was successful negociated, and the Keltoi have left Erin and settled in their new home on the Island of Nordstrand, in the North Sea. In return Tuetonia have gained a new ally, the end to the war and the return of the Swords of Tuetonia.

THE YEAR IN BRIEF

The Battle of Vengance

VENGEANCE, May 1108

The year started with the High King Morgan of the Fir Cruthen, summoning the combined might of the factions to battle against the Keltoid Invaders and reclaim the land of Erin. The first battle witnessed the Wolves, Jhereg, Fir-Cruthian and Steppe-Alliance achieve a partially victory when they gave the invaders a bloody nose, but unfortunately none of the strategic objectives or enemy commanders where defeated.

The following day High Steward Hapsburg commanded the Vipers, Lions, Algaia and Hei Ravni to a victory against the invaders and forced them from the north of Erin. However tragedy almost struck when Frederick von Hapsburg was captured at the end of the battle, only a mission to return him, with many other nations joining the hunt saw him brought back.

Much was learned about the invaders who had taken the Fir Cruthen lands; we discovered that they called themselves the Keltoi.

CARNIVALE, July 1108

The joy of Kruger’s defeat may be short lived, however, as it was discovered at the Carnival, which took place on the Iles de Pommes, that the ritual circle used by Kruger has corrupted following his catastrophic failure and there are many problems beginning to surface. This is something which must be high on the priority list for Teutonians on their return.

The Carnival hosted by the Algaians gave many individual Teutonians the chance to shine in their chosen specialities and more than this, gave us the opportunity to present our united front to the world at large. Many people were surprised at the reinforced strength of our great nation and many encouraging words passed.

The prison break-out from Hag Grief appears to have spewed forth an individual going by the overly exuberant name of ‘The Silver Arrow’, and he appears to be causing a small amount of mayhem on the roads and highways of Eastern Teutonia, although he has a certain cult status amongst much of the peasantry. The ‘Silver Arrow’ takes it upon himself to mete out justice to those he feels require it. These are almost invariably minor nobles whose money and possessions he takes for himself.

Whilst we did not win the Carnival overall – that great honour being awarded to the Jhereg nation – within bare minutes of his arrival at the Great Renewal of Magic, Lord Hart of the Algaia told us that in his eyes we were the true winners and this is something that all Teutonians should be proud of.

A marriage took place between Tacramere of the Moredhel and the Taniaste of the Fir Cruthen, Dim Tan. This alliance represents all that our two nations have achieved over the past few years and demonstrates to the world outside that we are no longer at loggerheads with one another.

RENEWAL, August 1108

The time of Renewal was one of mixed fortunes for the Teutonians. Several lives were lost in battle and they will be added to the Book of Remembrance in due course.

High King Morgan of the Fir Cruthen was lost to his people, a tragedy which also latterly saw the death of his betrothed, Sayuri of the Hei Ravni. There were a number of problematic incidents which need resolution at the earliest possible opportunity, but scattered amongst the battles and difficulties were moments of joy for our nation.

Firstly, our Lord Steward has been elected to the position of King Frederick I of Teutonia by the Prince Electors. This position was in name only until approval was received from the gods, something which happened in the crowning ceremony which took place in the ritual circle. The lands of Teutonia once more have a King and under the united flag, the Vipers and Cobras seek to settle their differences once and for all.

A marriage took place between the Lord High Chamberlain, Kale von Kessel and Teneniel of the Moredhel, sealing the continuing ties that are ever-growing amongst the different races of the country. A number of betrothals have also come about as a result of negotiations between nations and Teutonia will soon have strong ties with the Hei Ravni and the Algaia.

Peace was brokered with the Keltoi nation and the island of Erin has finally been declared free of the invaders. These Keltoi peoples, from whom it seems we can learn much, were granted lands in the far north of Teutonia.

We now return to our beloved homeland with a view to finding and destroying this Sebastian von Beck and finding out the damage that has occurred as a result of Kruger’s actions in the ritual circle in the Black Forest. After such a long time away from the mother land, it is impossible to tell what sort of adversity awaits us on our return. One thing is sure, however – the united Teutonia will face whatever it is thrown and will not fear.

THE GREAT FOREST OF ERIN, June 1008

An elf by the name of Rascal from the Great Forest of Erin travelled from camp to camp explaining to all the nations present that the invaders were rapidly encroaching upon the sacred forest and that it was something that we should defend at all costs.

Many constructs were encountered during this time and it has since been revealed that the man deemed to be behind them is one Sebastian von Beck, apparently a Teutonian, who seems to seek to re-form the age-old Axis Treaty that was once formed between the Albion, Teutonian and Jhereg nations.

We travelled to the Great Forest where the great Revel was taking place. Many things occurred whilst we were in the Forest, including the first sighting for many years of the Fir Cruthen totem spirits, the Tuatha de Danaan, one of whom, Otter, has since become a permanent addition to the Fir Cruthen war host.

For the Teutonian nation, the greatest success of the year occurred in the Great Forest. Our allies in the Moordinai brought word to us that the foul murderer and leader of the Cobra rebellion Kruger was planning a major blood sacrifice in a ritual circle somewhere deep in the Black Forest of Teutonia. The aim of this venture was to enable Kruger to enter the Realm of Mortis and seek out the spirit of General Demetrius, the most famous and revered military leader Teutonia has ever known. Kruger planned to bind with Demetrius’ spirit, a move that would have made him entirely invincible. It was, quite simply, now or never.

With aid from the shadow Marissa, The Lord Arcane created a bridge to the Land of Mortis. Fifteen brave and newly Knighted Teutonian warriors fell upon their own blades and their spirits where led into the Realm of Mortis by General Darius von Wolfsburg, where they were able to fight and finally defeat Kruger. For each brave warrior, a noble healer was there to protect their corporal shells whilst in the realm of Mortis and it was due to the undeniably excellent efforts of the entire Nation that nobody was lost. Kruger has been defeated and without powerful necromantic powers, nobody is bringing him back in a hurry.

At the time of the war host’s visit to the Great Forest, it was also discovered that there had been a jail break from the prison tower of Hag Grief, deep in the Shetian Alps, and also that a group of the farmers in Eastern Teutonia were beginning to suffer the effects of the war host’s absence.

As if all this were not enough to contend with, the first outbreak of the disease now known as Swine Pox came to bear.

RETURN TO LONESOME PINE, November 1108

King Hapsburg commands the Teutonian Senate to winter in the Osterreich region of Teutonia, at the Lonesome Pine and to receive a formal pledge of allegiance from the local nobility - specifically Prince Clovis of the Aedui and his allies.

The Teutonian senate will be led by Herzog Isileth von Badtolz (Lord Arcane); Herzog Darius von Wolfsburg (deputy Lord Exchequer) and Pflazgraf Teneniel von Kessel Fitzhumaktson (acting Lord Diplomat).

Situated so close to the Imperial border, the Teutonian Senate should expect to receive an imperial delegation, perhaps even from the deputy Governor of Holbourne Head, Masagaru. Opportunities for profit must be exploited but tact, guile and intelligence will be needed from the leaders of the Senate to prevent Teutonia being drawn into another costly and bloody conflict with the Imperials.

Teutonian Banquet (6-8th March 1109)

Prince Elector & Lord Arcane, Herzog Isileth and King Hapsburg invite you to the City of Bad Tolz this winter for a Traditional Teutonian banquet. All are invited for food, drink, games, good company and discussions about the future. More details can be found here
