The Order of the Eagle
Patron: High Steward Frederick von Hapsburg
Hochmeister: Pflazgraf Flynn von Marienburg
The Order of the Imperial Eagle was formed on 10th November 1107.
The year began with the selection of the Champions of Teutonia.
The candidates where tested through out the year, not all survived.
The testing culminating in August with a ceremony presided over by High Ritualist Isileth, who witnessed the chosen three;
Nash Landgraf of Koblenz, Lawcien of the Moredel, and Commander Horace Cope of the Teutonian Navy
pledged to serve the Empire of Teutonia and swear allegiance to the flag of their new order.
The gods of Teutonia accepted their vows and empowered them as Champions of Teutonia.
During the siege of Hannover (November 1107), two soldiers recovered the long lost badge of the last Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights. The two soliders, Flynn Sniggers and Barnabus, retold how they where approached during the midst of a great battle by a spirt of a grand knight. The spirit singled then out because of their great skill and valour in battle. The spirit of Albert von Brandenburg, last grand master of the Teutonic Knights, further tested their honour and loyalty before revealing to them the location of his last resting place and the ancient badge of office.
Following this omen Lord Hapsburg requested the gods permission to reform the Teutonic Knights and officially founded the Order of the Imperial Eagle. Lord Hapsburg vowed before the gods that he would restore religion back to the people of Teutonia and to purge any corruption he found within the Church or the Land of Teutonia.
The ceremony culminated by the symbolic passing of the Eagle Standard from Lord Hapsburg to the newly knighted Sir Flynn and Sir Barnabus.
The Order of the Imperial Eagle have been granted rule over the fortified town of Marienburg, to make their home.
Membership into the order is open to all that can prove their loyalty, bravery and worth to Teutonia.
Hochmeister, Freiheir Flynn von Marienburg has been appointed High Provost, and is responsible for both the security of the camp and nobles on Teutonian business outside of camp (e.g. Ritualists & Diplomats). The level of security to be applied will be agreed between the King and the Teutonian Senate.
